I Fell In Love With The Trixie Tunic
This is the pattern in my profile picture. It's called the Trixie Tunic, and I fell headlong in love with it! The first version ended up being a vest. When I'm making a garment, I do fittings to make sure it fits correctly, and when I did the fitting on this, I liked it so much without the sleeves, I left them off:
While I was doing this first one, I noticed that the centers of the squares looked like suns, so I decided to do a full version in reds and yellows. Special thanks to Showers Of Flowers yarn shop in Denver Colo for a staff member who helped me identify the right shade of red, and for having a wonderful cotton yarn from Denmark (the pale yellow) that works so well in this piece. I love to play with color, so I used up to five different yarns in both versions. I modified the sleeves in the red one, using a forced decrease in the V stitch, and I also had some problems with the pattern that I figured out; the pattern notes are posted at Ravelry.
