Wow, that is huge yarn and those needles, I could never handle those, but I bet they'd make good rugs! I am going to work with some broomstick crochet and will use one somewhat big needle, but not nearly that big. ''ll have to buy the needle but I have something else I can use if I can find a way to stop the stitches from falling off the end, and I have a couple of ideas to try so I can get going on it.

Good Gosh!!! Totally crazy and totally beautiful. Wonder where I can find a crochet hook that big? Not to mention finding the yarn.

I think they're pvc pipes or old broom handles that are sharpened on the end.

Yep, they're 1 1/2" PVC and she closed up the end with what looks like duct tape. If I want a crochet hook that big I guess I'd have to make it myself from 1 1/2" solid wood. It wouldn't have to be as long as her needles though.

Wooden dowels with sharpened point & rubber bands on other end to keep yarn from slipping off. My Dad made mine, and a very large crochet hook many years ago

It seems like to me that it would be eaiser to arm knit to make that instead of trying to fight with a pair of pcv pipes. With the right bulkiness type of yarn, it would look almost the same.
