Paper boy news hat
Hello all crocheters
I'm having difficulty with the brim part of the hat. I'm making bobwilson123 hat with the brim and I can't get the visor part to look like Clare's, mine looks like a duck bill and it doesn't have the right shape. I have followed her pattern and it's not coming out right.
Does anyone here at crochet talk have an answer to why it doesn't look right. It's not really a hat, but a hair band with a visor, or I should say it's a beanie with a brim added on.
Really would be great if I could get my hat to be shaped like hers is.
Thanks

What is the web site to the pattern so we can take a look at it, and maybe find the problem?

The # is LW2375 Make sure you follow it just as it says, it is just four rows of HDC, and then one of SC. There isn't any increasing or anything, so it should be straight. The hat will give it the curve on your head. Hope this helps.
FINISHING
Brim
Row 1: With wrong side facing, count 25 sts to left of first
st on Round 1, join yarn with a slip st and ch 2, hdc in next
18 hdc.
Rows 2-4: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each hdc across.
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each hdc across. Fasten off

Thank you
I'm going to try a different ply and see if I can get the brim to look like it does in the picture. For some reason my hat had a fuller head. The hat was a very spacious and that's why the brim didn't fit with the size of the hat.
Thanks again for your help

,Thank you
I made the hat again and now it looks much better thanks to your suggestion. I followed the directions and made a small brim of 5 rows, then sewed the brim.
Thanks again
