I made 2 different kinds of breads today

Hi,
I made a strawberry bread and double chocolate zuchinni bread. The double chocolate one made 2 small loaves. It tastes more like cake. the strawberry bread is good too. The choc. one is filling.

They both sound yummy, Jean Marie! I used to bake a lot when my boys were growing up, I really enjoyed it. Now that it's just me, I hardly even cook for just myself.

Hi MeerKat,

Strawberry Bread

Bring 1 cup mashed unsweetened strawberries to a boil over med. heat for 1 min. Cool.

Mix & Set Aside
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. baking powder

Cream 1 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 1/3 c. shortening. Mix until light & fluffy. Add flour mixture alternately with 1/3 c. water to cream mixture mixing well after each addition. Stir in strawberries & walnuts. Bake 50-60 min. at 350 degrees.
