    Best way to stiffen basket

    Hi All,
I founds a couple of patterns for crochet baskets that I really like, but my question is about how to stiffen them.
It looks like glue and water mixture holds the strongest, but I was wondering if anyone has used that method and how exactly they did it.
    Thanks for any advice.

Charrl65, I hope you tried the patterns. I have made a bunch of angels over the years and used the glue and water to stiffen them. To me that was the best. I mixed the glue and water in a plastic bag, then washed the work and while it was still wet I put it in the mixture. Move the work around till it is well coated. Does the pattern say how to stretch a basket? I have never done one. I made a deal that looked like a big egg and we put a balloon in it and blew it up. Then when the egg was dried, we broke the balloon. That might work to do the handle. Can you take some pictures ? Margaret
