BobbieJoe, that is absolutely gorgeous!!! I love the color and you are one very talented lady. Tell us about what kind of wool you used, did you dye it that color, how did you learn to spin, etc. I saw the spinning wheel in the picture of your rug and wondered if it was just a prop or if you used it. Spinning is a lost art (as far as I know).

I cannot tell you the type of wool. I won a drawing in a game in one of the groups I am in on Revelry. I won it a few years ago. I failed to write what type it was. It was dyed already. When I was very young I was always trying to twist anything and everything into yarn. I picked up spinning very quickly. I started with a drop spindle. About a year later I received my wheel as a Christmas gift.
I did look on line for some references on spinning. But really it just kinda came natural for me. I have been told that it is past lives coming through. LOL

What a beautiful piece, I need a piece like that to cover my arms on a sleeveless sun dress I have! I'd love to spin wool, too, what a great talent you have - do you still spin?

Thank you! Yes I do. I spun wool so I could crochet the shawl. I too love spinning. I have more I am spinning now. I have several pounds of alpaca to spin also.

It's beautiful, when I lived in Maryland there was a group of ladies that would teach anyone that wanted to learn to spin how. Unfortunately, I was never able to make it their classes, I am determined to learn though, lol it would make a nice excuse for me to own a few alpacas, and sheep.
