I am really feeling dumb now. Have you worked with chart patterns? I have a question. What does it mean to take measurements and then chain in multiples of 9? This is very confusing to this novice. I've been crocheting for 37 years but never worked with charted patterns. I w old Re a lay like some help, if you don't mind.

You take the measurement you need, say your waist, for example 32 inches. Then make a chain as close to that number as possible but you have to be able to divide by 9 because the pattern is a multiple of 9. What I generally do is count out the chains as I make them, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 1, 2, 3, etc. until I have the length I need. Then add up to the next 9 or take out if it's only a couple of chains down to the last group of 9. I hope that makes sense to you

AMAZING and almost like one I already own!

This skirt is amazing! I have one that is almost identical to this (couldn't believe it, and lined, too) that I purchased from QVC several years ago for less than $30.00 at the time. So many people assume that I made it, and I am tempted to say yes, but I don't, because I have crocheted a lot of clothing. Good luck to all who try this. I never thought I could make this, but now there is a pattern. Maybe I will try another color! Thank you!

Very nice. I'm hoping to make it soon but in a shorter length.
The biggest lie I tell myself, "I don't have to write that down, I'll remember it!"

Cool maxi skirt. I would stop after the 4th stitch pattern (shells). I'm a shorty and the maxi skirts just make me look short and stumpy.
