    Help with a pattern please

    Hi Everyone,
    ocean_tranquility_afghan.pdf
I'm working on the Ocean Tranquility Afghan by Anastacia and having some difficulty.
I've got Row 1 OK, but Row 2 is where I lost it.
Ch 3 3 turn. Dc in next dc, - got that.
*group in next V st, dc in next 3 dc. - what does that mean? Dc in V st group? Dc in next 3 st?
Wouldn't that be just dc in the whole row?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Charl

I just looked at the pattern and when it says group, if you go to the abbreviations sections, it means group = 7dc in ch 1 space. so in each v stitch where you have the ch 1 sp, that is where you will be doing 7 dcs. If you look at the pic, you can see 7dc in the v stitch space.

    Hope this helps.

Ah, so it means to put 7dcs in the ch1 space of the V and the dc in the next 3 dc stitches.
Thank you so much. Now it makes sense. I didn't understand that the word Group is actually a stitch.

You are welcome. Actually, I didn't either till I looked at the pattern. Often designers will use their own terminology and sometimes it is not what we are used to. But glad you understood me. I also have that pattern, haven't gotten around to do it yet. Have fun and post a picture if you can when you are done.

Look up under the pattern "Abbreviations" and you'll see what a "group" is for this pattern. Group: (7 dc) all in same ch 1 sp.

I just didn't read the pattern closely enough. Now I see what you mean.
    Thank you.
