Just wanted to let you know the blog was as per all of them. As I read along you mentioned the chainless beginning stitch. The maroon dress with the inserts, every row was started with a Chainless Foundation Double Crochet. Every time you turn an started a new row it was done that way. Also I have mastered the chainless foundation row. Thank you for ratting .e.

Susan, you can watch videos of this as 'chainless foundation' or foundation single crochet (fsc), or foundation hdc (fhdc), or foundation dc (fdc), or foundation tr (ftrc).
Here is the foundation single crochet described and shown by Maggie Weldon for Lion Brand:
Here she is as Maggie's Crochet doing fdc (foundation double crochet):
and you can search the other ones if you like the technique.
What is does is keep you from having to make a foundation chain AND a first row, it gives you the foundation and first row combined! It's ok, it's stretchier and saves time, plus prevents you from having a too-short and too-tight foundation chain.
It's not good for every project tho, but it does have it's advantages!
