Hello and welcome to CrochetTalk! Glad you joined us and looking forward to learning more about you!
Sometimes, it means to repeat the stitch 10 times. Can you provide us with a portion of the pattern instructions where you have seen this?

Welcome to the group. I live in Alabama and I'm glad you're here.
When a pattern says 10x it means to repeat ten times whatever is usually in the parentheses, brackets, or in between asterisks. It could also mean to repeat a specific stitch ten times (DC 10x would mean to make 10 DC).
Hope this helps you!
Shelley

Welcome Linda! I'm also Linda:-) I'm from Kansas and love to crochet doilies, prayer shawls, blankets, bookmarks, and scarves. I agree with Shelley, 10x means 10 times. For example, (sc in st, ch 1, dc in next st, ch1, sc in next stitch)10x. You would repeat the instructions in the parentheses 10 times in your row then go on to the remaining stitches in instructions. Hope this doesn't confuse you.

It probably means to repeat the stitch 10 times. The author of the pattern should have definitions/abbreviations for you to refer to. I hope this helps you.
