messages sent to my email addy

how do i stop receiving notification messages sent to my email addy? i seldom get them until today. in a few short hours i received 29 notifications about threads i was following... thing is, they were all old. one was notice of a private message i had already responded to on 1-30-15. also, there were no notices in my 'Notification' at the top of the page...

Hello,

Click on settings above when you are logged in. Then, go to subscriptions on the left hand side of the page. There will be a list of subscriptions which you can change the notification on.

Also, click on the general settings on the same page to the left and make changes in your notification settings. Take a look at the default thread subscription option with the drop down options.
