For All Who Have Lost Loved Ones
Sympathy Cards
Trust In Him
There's One who knows why you are sad,
There's One who cares for you;
Just look to Him,
and trust in Him,
And He will see you through.
He knows your loss and sorrow,
He hears your prayer above;
Each day He freely gives to you
The strength of
His Great Love.
A Rose Beyond The Wall
A rose once grew where all could see,
sheltered beside a garden wall,
And as the days passed swiftly by,
it spread its branches straight and tall...
One day, a beam of light shone through a crevice that had opened wide --
The rose bent gently toward its warmth
then passed beyond
to the other side...
Now, you who deeply feel its loss,
be comforted - the rose blooms there -
its beauty even greater now, nurtured by God's own loving care.
__________________________________________________ ______
Your grief is shared
your heartache known
by Him who calls you as His own.
Your grief is shared
by others, too -
others that love and care for you. Praying for renewed hope and strength.
May the love of God
sustain you,
the peace of God
be with you,
and the promise of God
comfort you
in this hour of sorrow.
Its difficult to bear the loss of one so very dear,
But may it help to know that caring thoughts are near,
And may your special memories be a comfort to you too,
And keep the one you loved so much still very close to you.
Your loved one is where the streets are paved with gold -
gold as clear as crystal - where the roses never fade -
by the crystal sea
Scripture Verses
For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me. Psalm 27:5
He Healeth the Broken in Heart
and Bindeth Up Their Wounds. Psalm 147:3
A Prayer of Deepest Sympathy
Lord, the loved ones gone from us
we trust now to your keeping --
Bring them home at last to You,
wake them form their sleeping.
Soothe them with Your Tenderness,
Touch them with Your Grace,
Take them from this world to find
a better, brighter place...
Care for them like children, Lord,
and let them always be
Safe within Your gentle heart
for all eternity,
And though we loved them very much,
we'll find our peace somehow
In knowing we will meet again although we're parted now.
May your faith sustain you
and may the love
and prayers
of those who care
comfort you.

Thanks for the share. I think most of the older gals in here knows I lost my husband six months ago. It doesn't seem that long and yet sometimes it seems longer. Thanks Jean!

I have not lost anyone recently, but I can appreciate beautiful poetry; and these poems brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing them Jean Marie. My dear friend of 35 years lost her husband this past April. His birthday would have been Feb 14. Thiis will be the first bday she'll be without him. Please pray that the Lord will give her what she needs to get through. Thanks and I pray that God blesses all of you. I pray that He gives you all comfort and strength. xoxox.

I haven't been on the boards in a long time so I have just become aware of your loss. I'm very sorry for your loss. Grief is a strange thing sometimes. I think emotionally we try to bottle up the pain so we can cope. Later we revisit our sorrow when we can deal with the loss better. In the end we all have our own unique timetable. I lost my mom after being her primary caretaker. It's been 4 years and I still have the need to talk to her. (I do, in my heart and mind.) Blessings to you.

Donna, how true that we all have our own unique timetable. Some people think you should be over it a lot quicker than you are. I was my husbands sole caregiver other than a lady I hired to come in once a day for an hour to help me. He was bedridden for two years. But was housebound for 5 years.
Sorry about your Mother, I lost my Mother in 2009, she was 89 years old.

It's been 3 years since I lost my brother. He was only 46. That first year was especially hard. All the "firsts," the holidays especially the 4th of July when we found out he had brain cancer, and his birthday. One thing that helps us is talking about all the fun and funny times we had with him. We still talk about him like he was with us. Lots of laughing at the memories, and still lots of crying too. He had special songs played for each of us at his funeral. When I hear "my song" on the radio in the car, I feel like he's sitting in the seat right next to me.
Lots of love to you all,
Shelley
