Stainless Steel Hooks for Barbie Doll Clothes
I have 3 granddaughters, ages 8,8 and 10. I have tried for years to get them interested in dolls, but to no awail. They love their computers. Well this Christmas they each received Barbie Dolls once again and this time they are all excited and seems to be really into them. So I thought I might try to crochet each one of them one piece of doll clothes to see if they would like them. I have tried stainless steel hooks and always get frustrated with the hooks, especially when I try to use the size 10 thread. Is there any stainles steel hooks that are any better than others. I have Boye, but I just seem to have trouble keeping the thread on the hook. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. At the rate I am going now, my granddaughters will be grown and married before I crochet them some doll clothes. Help!!!!!!
Have a blessed evening,
Greta

Though I haven't used steel hooks in a long time, since I don't do thread projects anymore, I do prefer Susan Bates hooks for yarn. You could try one in steel and see if it works for you.

Maybe you are using incorrect size hook. I use size 7 steel crochet hook for size 10 thread. The larger the number the smaller the hook. What size hook are you using?

I thought about the same thing. I also use a size 7 hook with number 10 thread. What size hook are you using? I use Boye hooks and don't have a problem with the thread slipping off.
