    Hello from Illinois!

I learned to crochet from my grandmother as a young girl. I made a number of doilies. But it kind of fell by the wayside when I married and had children to raise. Now I think I would like to start again, but I am thinking it would probably be easier for me if I go with yarn and big crochet hooks! Any suggestions for easy patterns or ideas would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance. GmaScherrie

Hello and welcome to our group
My advice would be for you to make a scarf. So, you could get a "feel" for crochet hook again.
What part of IL do you live?. I live in North West suburb of Chicago. About 30 min. away from Downtown and about 20 min. away from Wisconsin border.

    Thank you

That sounds like a good idea. I am in Dixon, Illinois, birthplace of Ronald Reagan. Just moved down here last November from Rockford where i lived for more than 30 years. It has been quite an adjustment. Thank you for the welcome.

    You are welcome
Where is Dixon located in IL? Is it south, west or north from Chicago?.

I believe it would be about 130 miles southwest of Chicago.

Thank you for the welcome. Is the picture of the scarf something you have made? it's a lovely piece.

What scarf picture?. I don't see any scarf in this Thread.
I see here ( on the left) my platter of pastries and Larisa's beautiful doily.
