Kids would be very happy to get one of those as a treat.
That is perfect amigurumi project for a beginner. Very good tutorial is included.
You can make them look mean-scary or happy. It will be up to you.
If you will use worsted weight yarn, they should be around 3" tall.

PS: NO need to buy a "safety eyes". You can make a "french knot" or any knot out of small piece of black yarn. For a very young children and for animals "safety eyes" are not recommended. They might not be that safe..they can swallow them or stick them in their nose.

I know this an older post,but i just have to say something about the monster pattern.Which is so cute and something my 7 yr. old grandson would love! He's into all that sci fi stuff.

Yes, boys this age like that stuff. And that is so easy to make, takes a very little yarn.
He would be very proud to show off to his friends with few of them!.
