How do you make a pom-pom?

I'm making a winter beanie, and I want to put a pom-pom on it but I don't own a pom-pom maker. Is there an easy way to make one by hand?

Holiday's are coming. We never know when it comes to pom-poms LOL
It dosn't have to be that many. We can do that using chair legs or something else with a smaller space.
