    'weaving yarn ends in granny squares'?

    Hi,
    I have been crocheting for over 40 years--- My mom taught me simple chain and sc when I was 8 years old and since then I have had to learn the rest by myself and have never gotten the hang of weaving the ends in granny squares. They always seem to poke out and look raggedy. I have seen other pieces that don't have them and I know there must be a way to do this.
    I would appreciate any input.
