Howdy from Texas!!
I joined the group last week . I am married, and have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. I have been crocheting doilies since 1975 but less than a year ago I joined a local crochet group that makes afghans, hats and baby items (we work with yarn!!) to donate to charity. It is a very rewarding experience. I am looking forward to learn from you and to share what I can and know if possible!! Crochet is my passion and my therapy!!

Hello Flordemaga! I love crocheting and don't get to do near enough. I love doilies but can never get them to lay flat. What's your secret?

I do not worry so much about "gauge" and use the hook size that I think will help me keeping them flat. I can usually can tell after a couple of rounds if the hook size is all right or not!! After I finish my doilies, I wet them and stretch them in a board using non-rust pins.. This is my method and it works for me.. Sometimes I use spray starch, but prefer just water..
