Thanks for warm welcome! I have tried my hand at crochet over the years but never had much luck with it till recently. I am mostly a knitter, quilter and now crocheter(?) I am currently working on an afgan in shades of lilac for granddaughter to take to college next year. Wish I could conquer the "grannie square" no luck with that one.

You are more then welcome. I am self taught. Just started crocheting over a year ago. Watched videos on YouTube. I also do plastic canvas. Looking forward to seeing your work. Hope you will post pictures of the afghan you are working on.

Welcome Crochetisland. Well in this group, no crocheter is an island! It's a great community to be in. What exactly is it that happens when you try to granny square, that lets you feel like the conquered one instead of the conquerer?
