    New to crocheting

I recently retaught myself to crochet. Today I finished a baby sweater and hat and am wondering if there is anything I should do with them before I give them as a gift.

    Thank you.

    Hey Robyn,
I have done a hat and I didn't do anything to it. But have not done any baby clothes yet. Sorry that I could not help.
Hope you will share pictures of them.

When I have crocheted and knitted baby blankets and clothes for gifts, I wash them in cool water with Woolite on the delicate setting. In the rinse cycle I use liquid downy to soften the fabric. Then, I block them if needed or lightly dry them. If it is a small item such as a baby hat, it's easier to handwash it using a yarn soak, then lie flat to dry. I hope this helps you!
