    there are some people that only do 2 chains when doing a turn for a DC row so you would DC in the 2nd chain from the hook hope this helps you

    Sometimes it is helpful if you copy the line or part of the pattern that gives this instruction so we can better understand what you are referring to. Was this instruction for the beginning of a row? Then it would mean you would chain 3 (or 2 if that is your preference) which would count as the first DC of the row.

    That sounds like they are asking you to increase a stitch...IE: you would chain 3 which is your 1st DC then you iincrease by making a DC in the same space as you did the chain 3, that way you have made 2 DC in one stitch.
