How to insert a zipper and lining into a crochet purse

Really good directions with photos. Can be adapted to any purse or bag.

Thanks for sharing that neat tutorial. I made a bunch of hobo bags for Christmas gifts, and I did something similar with mine. I lined them, but didn't use a zipper, just installed one of those magnetic snaps. The way the top of the bags were designed, the snap held them closed very well. I also put a little inside pocket into the lining which worked well.

Here is a link to the pattern, Susan. It is really an easy one, just single and double crochet. I made 10 of these at Christmas for gifts!

Thanks so much for the information! I made a hobo bag 4 years ago, never have put a lining in it because I'm not sewing intelligent! I can sew by hand and have a wonderful sewing machine that I have made I think 2 pillow cases and almost sewed my fingers to them! LOL! Thanks again! Wish me luck in keeping my fingers! LOL! LOVE YOUR FRIEND MANDA!

Amanda, I am glad that you could use the information. When it comes to not being "sewing intelligent", I think that you are selling yourself short. We all have our strengths and talents, and we just need to use them in the best way we know how. I have been machine sewing since my mom taught me at age 7, but I have never been good at hand stitching. I just can't seem to get the stitches even. I even have a mess when I sew on a button! I think that hand stitching is better suited to finishing crochet and knit items anyway, so you are in luck. Maybe we'll have to give each other lessons. Haha.
