The doll is the mermaid house guest located here Mermaid Houseguest | crochet today i added my own twists and made her my own creation. The hair is wrapped on wooden dowels and baked in a oven at 225 for 20 min. When they cool off just unwind and wala.....curly hair

Love your mermaid, turned out cute, I have done hair like that also, and surprisingly it stays curly.
