    Hi Spoula,
Yes, I sleep.Yep, I've been crocheting quite a bit lately. I crochet everyday anyways but I'm glad I got all that done. There might be a day that I don't crochet but that's rare unless I'm taking a break from crocheting. Yes, I have Bible Studies and the study now is 'No Other Gods' by Kelly Minter and I post other things too. Usually, once a week I go to the community center but sometimes I crochet there too. I wonder how ButterflyRose gets everything done. She does a lot! My Mom did a lot too!!

Hi Jean Marie, You have a lot of energy. I use to work and go non stop all the time too. Once I retired I wanted to do all the things I didn't have time to do while working. There isn't too much housework to do so I have a lot of time on my hands. I have mentioned before that I taught myself to knit and to do some Tatting. I have been crocheting and some cross stitch as well. I am running out of ideas and slowing down some. Staying busy is the best thing for the body and the brain so you keep at it as long as you can. When you go to Florida enjoy the sunshine and the Ocean just relax.

I am happy for you and your family in your new getaway from winter snow.

Hi Spoula, I thought I'd clear it up that I don't have a job.

Hi Jean Marie, Yes I know that you don't have a job because I think you have mentioned it to me before. I guess that is how you get so much done.

If you ever told me that, I had forgotten. Did you get any tutoring at all, from anyone? Because if you didn't, why, maybe there's hope for me yet.

    Hello MeToo,
No, I never received any tutoring. When my mother died I received her knitting needles. I didn't even know she could knit. I always liked the way knitted sweaters looked. I watched you tube videos and could not grasp the holding of the yarn in my right hand. I learned that is called throwing. I hold the yarn in my left hand and that is called the continental way that made more sense for me since I crochet with my right hand and use my left for the yarn. The biggest problem I had was keeping the yarn on the needle so it would not slip off. (I read where all beginners have that same problem) If I missed a stitch I would have to start over again because I didn't know how to correct it nor could I tell what stitch was dropped they all look alike to me except the basic knit or purl stitch.

The first thing I tried was a cable sweater I knitted very tight only to keep the yarn from falling off the needle. ( It turned out a little stiff) You learn from you mistakes. Did I mention it was a cable sweater (Ha) I thought you would use the same needle for that and don't get me started on a 3 way bind off using double pointed needles or what the heck was PASSO or SSK.
I had no idea what the stitches were and had to look at videos to see how you do them while I was trying to knit.

I knitted a sweater for my little granddaughter that was complicated. I posted it on this forum it was lavender with a hat. Last summer I posted the mosaic purse I knitted it looked complicated but turned out really simple. I don't consider myself a knitter
but I try now and then when I see a pattern that I like. I like to crochet it is much faster.

There are some good videos out there that can teach you a lot and that is how I learned. You should try it
I think it is good to learn new things.
    Pictures of my knitting below.

Wow Spoula! I've done some knitting but normally I crochet. I have done some filet knitting but I had a pattern. I never learned cable stitches in crocheting or knitting. I've done dishcloths, purses, rabbits and a duck in knitting.

Hi Jean Marie, If you knitted filet, rabbits and ducks then you are truly awesome in knitting.

I like crochet the best but do see some cute little knitting things I might try.

    Hi Jean Marie,
I found this video for you on how to crochet the single crochet knit stitch.
