    Filet crochet is beautiful. I tried it along with tatting, bargello, cross-stitch, hardanger,and a few others. I always returned to crocheting.

    @kl1000. You have a pet snail? I've never heard of such a thing. We have plenty of things called "slugs" in our vegetable garden (another name for snails, I guess), which increase in number when the weather is damp. They eat everything they can find! When we have a hot dry summer, I am so glad.

    It's nice you could have one as a pet, though.

    I have 2 dogs and one cat. I have had 2 cockatiels, 2 parakeets, 2 lovebirds and a parrot and 2 cats. I love animals. Out youngest is a 3 year old blue heeler and she is a spoiled monster who stamps her front feet when she doesn’t get her way.My husband and I never had children so we have always spoiled our furry friends.

    @Solshine.

    I can’t believe in the changes in yarns and colors over the years.

    I too started really young, crocheted for a few years, then quit for 20 years like you because parenthood intervened in a big way (big for me, anyway).

    I restarted 2 years ago and was flabberghasted by the improvement and increase in types of yarns and, especially, crochet hooks. I'm even grateful for the appearance of those little rubbery pencil grips that (sometimes with difficulty) you can stick on too-skinny hooks. What amazing improvements for us.

    I found the snail on the fruit in the shop in winter. I think it was from Israel. I decided she wants to live. That is why she is here. She eats cucumbers.

    @kl1000. Bless you for your kindness with the snail. (I mean it.) Most people just smash any insect they see.
