We looked at so many houses when we lived in Seattle and the HOA dues were incredible, upwards from $400-1000 per month. Parking is also extra. Was watching DIY or something and they were saying in CA I think it was in SF a parking space can go for as much as $82,000. Our yard is too big for us to take care of properly now! It is a rambler so there are no stairs which is a good thing as we become older than dirt!!! HAHA Shirley

Right now we live in a apartment complex which goes by your income. There are limits on how much you can make. The complex is maintained up great. But every other week we have a furnace filter change and once a month we have pest control spray. Now these people can come into your apartment with or without you being there. They come in with the maintenance crew to see that they do not take anything. The condo is a bigger living area for us. The rent keeps going up $25.00 a year, as it stands now it is $675.00 a month. If you have a washer hook up in the apartment it is $25.00 extra added on to your rent. The condo is going to be $457.00. I will have my own laundry room w/washer and dryer--new! I hope I am making the right move. Atleast I will have no landlords/slumlords! It is on the 2nd floor with a great view of the mountains.

Libertylady64: It sounds like the right choice and the price sounds very good. Do you have any problems going up and down stairs? That would be my only concern! I think having a new washer/dryer is great!!! And to have more space too! Do you have people to help you move? Thinking of you while you manage this change!! Shirley

yes I can still go up stairs and they have an elevator in each unit too. it also comes with a dishwasher, stove, fridge, oven, all new. Just my better half and myself, we are thinking hiring a moving company to do all of the heavy furniture, we can manage the rest of the stuff. thank you for your thoughts lili I really do appreciate it!QUOTE=Lili;90994]Libertylady64: It sounds like the right choice and the price sounds very good. That is what we did when we moved to Seattle and back here to Eastern Wa. I can manage all the little stuff but the furniture is too much. And those movers can usually do it in 1-2 hours so the cost is not much, ? $200 or so. Oh good, an elevator will really help too. I love new appliances!!!! Just feels good for some reason! And I found when we moved this last time I was able to let go of things and downsize a bit and have kept on doing it. Shirley

I don't think they were really upset about the yellow ribbon as much as they just liked to complain and make my son's inlaws miserable. I do however agree that getting upset over flagpoles and yellow ribbons are just completely stupid there should not be a place in the US that you can not put up our flag (or any military flag) or place a yellow ribbon for a troop
God will never put more on your plate then you can handle.

I think some people do not have anything else to do but complain and I feel truly sorry for them. How unrewarding a life that must be!!!! Shirley

Went to Daytona for a long weekend several years ago. I. Have a childhood friend who lives in Port St.Lucie and I haven't seen her since I moved the area. That's bad. I guess you just get wrapped in your own life.
