I have made several of these. Easy to make, but time consuming to have to cut the yarn and then latch hook. But well worth it!

I've been using bobby pins for years. Work great and don't fall out like some of the stitch markers I have used.

I was always told that it should be your cost of materials times 3. That is how I price my items. Of course if it is something with great detail , I may charge more.

I use Timtex. It is used for stiffening in purse bottoms and such. Works very well and is washable. Also, the plastic canvas would work well.

Knife grip for me. I am a self taught crocheter and this is the way that worked for me. My daughter-in-law told me I hold my hook wrong, but, I do waaaay more crocheting then she does and go a lot...

Having made several of these myself, I would suggest a second coat of stiffner. They seem to hold up better then with just one coat.
