Hello - this is really cute! I could not find an actual pattern with the red, white, blue - but I did find this pattern. You could use the three different colors within the pattern creation itself. Hope this helps you out at least on a pattern:

Good morning, did you go to ravelry.com? They have the (dreaded) v stich shopping bag patteren. If you click on the comments thay have alot of pictures of different bags people have made and some have" improved" on. Maybe the red,white, blue picture will be there. If not ravelry.com has soooo much. I just go to look sometimes. LOL I really like the bag patteren I just thought it would be smaller. So I changed all, yarn, hook, tention. Know I know all was fine its just bigger than I thought.

I just made this bag with several variations. I'll post a picture at some point. I made it a little smaller, but it turned out to be easy and pretty quickly done, even with my variations.
Hey, I know what its like to want something and can't just put your finger on it. Good luck tring at least its easy on the eyes.
