Favorite stitch for a summer hat?

I need some ideas. All I can think of is the V stitch.. anything prettier than that that would be good for a sun hat? I am up for learning any stitch

I think the shell stitch would make a pretty summer hat. Go on Youtube and there may be something there.

I have crocheted summer hats with cotton yarn with a double crochet and a shell stitch. I sell them for $5.00 where i work at. I have to post some pics when i finish it.
