I'm alive and recovering.

Most of you do not know me but for those that do I am updating you on my health. This has been a hard year for me. I had a pulmonary embolism on the Saturday before Mother's Day and I was in the hospital for 4 days. I was home from Tuesday to Monday when I passed out and had a truck wreck. I was alone with my dogs and I ran off the road into a ditch and then a culvert and the truck almost flipped it was leaning over with wheels in the air. My face must have hit the steering wheel so it was badly bruised and I hit my head causing 2 large bumps. At the ER they found a brain bleed between the lobes and a broken back at T-12 and a broken pelvis. It was hard and I had surgery to repair the spine but I am home and recovering. I have worn a turtle shell brace but I am in a less restrictive one now. I have to wear the brace for 2 more months. I am still crocheting but I haven't finished the sweater I am working on. I am going to make sandals for my niece that is expecting a girl. Love to all my old friends and hello to the new ones.

Faye! It's so good to hear from you! I am sooooo sorry that you've been through so much. My goodness, you've really had a difficult time over the past couple of months.

We've all been praying for you, and we missed you! I'm glad to hear that you're able to crochet again. I know it helps pass the time while you're recovering.

Please keep us posted on how you're doing. And I'd love to see some photos of the sweater you're working on.

Dear! I wish you good health!

Larissa, I have missed you! Shelley, I am stuck on the sleeves for the sweater and all I have to do is finish a sleeve and do the edging and I can not make myself work on it. Laying in bed is a hard angle to crochet. I will post a picture if I finish it.

It's nice to meet you. Sorry to hear you've had such a hard time! Glad you're recovering! Looking forward to getting to know you.

I have missed ya'll too.I got so busy with Facebook that i didn't feel like I had time for both but I want to come back to this site. I made wonderful friends on here and I could use some more. I finished the sweater and I am enclosing pictures. I had trouble adding pictures so look for them on another post.

You used to talk about having depression so much..... I had never been depressed ...until about a week ago it hit me like a bull-dozer! I had a total breakdown at church a week ago. I went because I needed to go but didn't take part in the service and by the end of it I asked if we could please sing "Hold To God's Unchanging Hand" before we let the service out? Well that did it for me... I completely caved in. There wasn't very many there that night but they all gathered around me and asked me what was wrong and prayed for me.
Part of it is my little dog. He only weighs 6 1/2 lbs and turned 15 this past April. I don't know how much longer I could look after him and I think he had a seziere (sp sorry) a while back. He is getting pretty deaf and going blind too. I can't keep his area cleaned up any more and it has been smelling pretty bad too. I can't smell now so I didn't realize how bad it was until my son came from Arkansas for the RainRide. I asked John about the odor and he admitted it was terrible when I asked him about it . One of the men told me at church that he would take Perky to the Vet if and when I am ready. But a couple days later Perky seemed to really perk up and I have a friend who loves dogs and she and her husband both volunteered to take him home with them and take care of him. I can go visit him when ever I want to and they brought him over the other evening for a visit with me. He has too much life in him for me to put him down yet.
To make a long story short... He is still my dog and I have the say-so over him. They are so nice to do this for me. I do miss him.
That isn't all that was bothering me but I will tell you more some other time. I am feeling better now and I really am glad to see you are back. Your sweater is really pretty. Your adopted "mama" love ya, Patty

PS I forgot to tell you I am having a shot in my back for pain Friday at 11:30 .

You guys make me feel so good. I will try to post on here more. Patty, I love hearing from you. I still consider you my second Mama. If all the new members knew how good it feels to hear from old friends they would be posting all the time. I am crocheting very little but I still like seeing what ya'll are doing. I can't wear the sweaters I have made since I have lost 94 pounds after the gastric bypass surgery I had in January. I am through making clothes as I never like what I make. O my God, you lost 94 pounds??? You must look fantastic now, I can't imagine what you look like but I bet you really look beautiful! I just don't like the way you lost it due to all your accidents and health problems. Do you feel very different? I hope to see you on here more now and hope you aren't in pain so much now either. It's great to hear and see from Faye! Now she got stung by wasps. It turns out she is allergic to them. She had an Epi Pen. Thank God. But she had shortness of breath. Kaye (her twin) drove her to the hospital. She got there just in the nick of time!Faye has had a tough year! I take a 2-week breather to get my ankle replaced, and she goes and fights it out with wasps! What a lady! I love her dearly, but she has to stop scaring us to death! LOL! I have only check CT and my email for 2 days since my surgery because I can't put weight on my ankle for 8 weeks so I'm pretty limited. Thank God for the knee scooter. I'll try not to fall off it like Faye did! Lmao!

Shame on you for laughing about my falls with that dang scooter. I must have lost the instruction sheet on using the blasted thing. lol I hope you have better luck on it. Ladies, she is almost as accident prone as myself so don't let her fool you. We have been friends for 3 years and she has kept up with me with sickness and accidents. You will find that you make friends on here that become some of the most dear friendships you will ever have and you may never meet them in person. Judy is one of those friends.

Praying for you that you have a good recovery and your healing time will make that happen.

Faye you and I have been buddies for quite some time and I think I'm catching up to you on falling and stuff. Fell about 7 weeks ago and still have a knot on my knee, then fell in a giant creator in our senior citizen parking lot and had to go by ems to hospital...sprained my ankle and bruised the ribs!!! What next!!! Hahahahaha!!! I hope you're doing better lady or I'll have to come down there an have a talk with you. I finally got a vehicle!!! Hurray!!!!!!!!!!! Love ya Faye, Betty Lynn

I bless the day I found CT and you ladies. I have had so many laughS. I had my first cast and 24 stitches taken out of my ankle. I NOW have my second cast on for the next month. I'm supposed to get it off on my birthday. I still cannot walk on my leg til then, the 9th of Sept. My poor husband, Dan, is being so good about it. We have visiting nurses and PT nurses who come in to help me take a shower and practice on my knee scooter. That is a hoot.
