Pictures of My Baby Crochet

Thank you for posting the directions on how to post pictures, videos, etc. :) I have to say, I really needed that tutorial and was just about to ask directions on how to photo share here @ CT. It's so nice to be able to share with you some of the baby items I've crocheted for gifts. All of the patterns were freebies found on the web, that I tweaked a bit here and there to make them somewhat original; except for the aqua set, which was a paid pattern, I tweaked just a smidgen by no choice if I recall, as the counts and other issues arose at the time of crocheting. I just realized I haven't posted in order of making. 1. Aqua set. 2. Verigated set. 3. Cream set. 4. Blue set. and 5. Pink set. ( Though, I'm sure all the experienced crocheters would have spotted that order out ;)

Your baby close are precious, they're all just adorable! You did a great job on all of them!

Hi Shelly and Gramma Joe; I'm sorry it's taken me so long to say thank you to you both. My pc was sluggish today with super slow streaming but seems to be working fine at moment. I don't know what happens but when typing huge parts of my sentences vanish and it's so frustrating until it passes. So please don't think rude of me for taking so long to say thank you. I really appreciate your responses and I'm so glad you liked seeing them. They were super fun to work on. I just wish I had the pics of the babies in them.. lol Oh well.. maybe one day I'll get that surprise when I least expect it. ( I hope)

Simply adorable! What a great job! I'm sure those receiving these wonderful pieces were thrilled with a homemade gift.

Just got a card from my niece who had a baby girl- I gave her a baby afghan, baptismal bootie/slippers and a headband with flower on it. She reported that she prefers homemade gifts because she knows of all the love that goes into each and every item! I am so glad she appreciates that. My Grandma used to make white baptismal bootie/slippers for the oldest greatgrandchild in each family. These were such a treasure and keepsake when I received them for my oldest. Since Grandma is no longer with us, I thought it would be a nice to start this tradition for my family as well. :)

BCambell, I will look it up for you. If anyone else would also like patterns, just let me know. I haven't as yet set up a crochet blog but might do so some time in future. In the meantime, I would love to share patterns upon request.

Little Drummer, I'm glad to hear such a wonderful family tradition and memory you have. That is so special. I still have my baby bonnet my grandmother crocheted for my baptism as well. :)

Just gorgeous!! I also love to make baby items. I have a new great granddaughter and just sent off the christening dress w/booties, hat, headband, blanket. Also a monkey lovie, butterfly blanket w/barefoot sandals with the butterfly on the foot, and headband with butterfly and a couple headbands made with thread and beads. I took pictures with my husbands phone but don't know how to show them here. I don't think the phone pictures do the outfits justice, just too small to see. You did a wonderful job, those outfits are just beautiful.I really should invest in a camera. I make so many things and give them away and don't have the pictures. Carol

For the very life of me, I've been working on this afghan for my friends birthday gift to get it done in time. But I promise to make that my to-do-list top priority once it's done. ( in a few days) and then I'll begin to type out those patterns for you. Perhaps posting them to a blog and then providing a link would be a good idea for easy access to all who would wish to have them. If that's take gonna too long, I could just email them to you so you don't have to wait.

Thank you for asking, Jean Marie. I am well. I was in a lot of pain yesterday as the day before I went out for lunch with my mother. She still drives- Bless her heart- at 82 :) and we had a great time and fully worth an extra pain or two for sure. Though glad to say also, I'm feeling much better today after resting most of yesterday.

Carol, that butterfly set sounds so adorable, as does all the other crochet items you've mentioned. Some cell phone charge cords can attach to a pc to upload the pictures. I would love to see those very, very much- and, I don't think I'm alone in saying that- hint hint ;) I hope it's possible, or if not, that you are able to get a camera soon. That would be marvelous indeed!

I have just recently been crocheting baby clothes for the first time, for our soon-to-be-born 12th grandchild (girl) and had so much fun doing it. I will post them all soon. Thank you, Jean Marie for your concern of my pain. Yes, I am in pain constantly, though have some days/moments better than others. I had been working in a nursing home full time night shift giving care to 28 total care individuals, some of which are very heavy when giving care alone.
I ended up with two spinal stenosis (one at neck and one near lower lumbar) which only occurs if one is overly too strenuous over long periods of time, apparently. Though the stenosis's were not discovered until the accident that occurred on the last shift I worked back in 2008. I had slipped 5 disks while pulling out a bed to give care to my last resident of the night, when the wheels locked while in full motion of the push. (This was protocol for giving care to larger persons, though I do think this should be changed in the nursing system where the beds remain in a position to give care without having to move them would be ideal for both care giver and person receiving care, in my opinion) I had some back pain prior to the accident, but nothing as severe as that moment the 5 disks slipped. I have never been able to return to work since. These disks are pressing against my spine. However, I also discovered the pain in my left hip I also had was due to having worn out the hip entirely, and needed a total hip replacement.
It was recommended I have the hip surgery first, as would need leg strength to get over any back surgery and so was sent to a hip surgeon first before a back surgeon. However, I then ended up getting one of those toxic cobalt hip joints before they knew they were toxic to humans.. and as a result now also suffer the results of cobalt metal toxicity. Go figure.. So i went from bad to worse.. :O
When I finally got to see the back specialist/surgeon, he had consulted with 5 other specialists with my detailed info, which resulted in them all advising no surgery, as they felt I would end up worse than am now.. and was advised to try best I can to live with my current conditions as is. ..again :( If this so far sounds like was an ongoing nightmare.. you would be bang on! lol
The replacement surgery of the hip to one that is non toxic for some reason, is also showing about 85% of the people having that removal, not surviving. I think it may be because too much of the toxic metal is released during the procedure, or something like that involving serious infection that leads to death. So... lol.. I do have to laugh and keep my spirits up regardless. Crying only increases pain, where as laughing helps a lot to keep a positive frame of mind, and keep pain levels lower.. I believe life is meant to be enjoyed and do focus on that for everyone around me as well as my self. I have also found that while experiencing pain, if I focus on something else, it's like tricking the brain. So I practice meditation often, which also helps, as does crocheting. I learned this in the Pain Management Program by Dr. Ted at Bridgepoint Rehab here in Toronto.

Here is a meditation trick anyone can apply that works well when practiced regularly on an as needed basis. Close your eyes, focus your mind to where you feel the pain as to best pin pointing the area of origination as possible. See what it might look like for that feeling and then imagine the opposite. ie: If it's a hot burning, imagine pouring ice cold water into the area. If it's a knife, imagine pulling out the knife and soothing the area as if it were healed. If it's feeling like cloths pins pinching, imagine removing the clothes pins.. etc.. It may be only temporary relief, but it does help to reduce the pain significantly in a most natural way. :)

( I'm on a bit of a time crunch as that b-day is fast approaching) I have these baby patterns so far only as hand written in a spiral note book at moment. So I'll find them, and get them typed out asap, as promised. Aww.. I have to admit, it's such a wonderful feeling, and makes me smile from the heart to know you would like my patterns. Thank you, as well.

Mary I am so sorry you are in such pain. I have Shy Drager syndrome and some days the pain is overwhelming . The good days are a blessing. I will pray for you to have as many good days as possible. And for you to enjoy peace on those days.

Mary, Could I have your patterns? I have two granddaughters coming in a few months. One in October and one in November. I have 4 grandson's already but these will be the first granddaughters and I would like to make them some dresses. I love to crochet and I know handmade things will be appreciated much more then ones you buy at the store. I just think the dresses are so beautiful. You do wonderful work.

those are so adorable. You did a great job on them. I can crochet just about everything, but when it comes to a babys dress I always mess up. Seeing yours, makes me want to try again. I so want to crochet one for my 6 month old granddaughter Presley (my 11th grandchild) and my 3 month old first great granddaughter Elaina. Hugs, Kathy

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to CT

I ended up working another pattern and documented it as I went along to have something tangible .. and legible.. to send out to you. I have not found the bonnet or booties as yet..but the search is still on. I didn't realize how awful my note taking was, and found so many patterns that all say.. Baby Shell Sweater Set, etc.. I followed the picture more so for the Cream Sweater. (Only difference is one less row of baubles, and the number of rows on the Blue Sweaters sleeves, which is easily counted by picture ref. for applicable changes with the Mauve pattern. I will re write them separately, if I still can't find those particular original notes. To those who posted your email address, you should find this Mauve pattern in your inbox by the end of today, or by tomorrow morning. Anyone else who wishes this pattern, just let me know.

I need to say just so you know though if I haven't said, the flowers in this and the bird on the blue set, were designed by someone else, which I include links to as well in the pattern I'll send.

Mary, you are in my prayers. I also have problems with my back. I had 3 discs removed from the upper part of my back and they say I have degeneration in my lower back. They are trying to avoid taking out those discs by working on the nerves. They just did an ablation of the right side of my back and will do the other side soon. My hips have also been bad with the left one the worse. I went to a orthopedic doctor but he said it wasn't bad enough but yet he was going on xrays and the notes of another orthopedic doctor from 2 years ago. My pain doctor said if the ablation don't help my hips they are going to look further to see what is causing it. It is no fun going through back pain. I have a hard time doing things or walking very much due to it. I pray that God will take your pain away. I always tell me daughter, I will accept what ever God has in store for me. And I know that in time He will heal me but first before He heals me I want to see everyone else healed first. I would love to see Him heal your back and take away your pain very soon.
