Patti,
I noticed one hat that was green in one of your pictures. Have you ever done any hats for 4-H? I am just curious!
This is great that you help others this way. Thanks for sharing this.
I too am a breast ca survivor and hope you're doing well....Can you post patterns or give me a link to obtain??? Thanks
I just delivered 31 hats, all sizes, patterns.colors & stitches to the grade school on the next st. Some kids don't come properly dresses so the teachers are always looking for hats, gloves scarves & coats. Thet loved them. Will tate more as I do them. Loved doing them. I'm limited to just some patterns as I'm not an expert. But I have a couple I like real well. ent some to the babies at the hospital in Danville,Il. next town up from me. A church group was doing them so took a bag of 44 to them before Christmas.I,m always looking for nrw patterns.I need to find new fingers too so I can type! ha!ha!
Ladybug, we can figure out what you are trying to say. You just have tired fingers. Thank you for doing such a great service.
I am also a breast cancer survior actually a 2 time one first time 26 years ago this time 11 months. I also make hats for cancer patients at the navy med in San Diego. I make them for the babies in the Intensive care unit and children with cancer all at the Naval hospital. They took such good care of me it is a way of giving back.
You are truly amazing. Stay strong and God bless you.
Ladybug, thanks so much for hat you are doing. It's greatly appreciated even if the ones getting these don't know who to thank. I'm doing a similar thing for the St Baldricks foundation. They raise money for research for the cure of childrens cancer. My daughter is having an event in April here she is shaving off over 31" of her own hair off, as well as several other girls and guys, to donate towards this research. So I have been making hair hats. They are similar to yours but have hair attached to them,so as to give the appearance of actually having hair. It has encouraged a few more to donate their hair also. Its just a great thing that your doing!
thank you Brenda. My hubby died of colon cancer & most of his relatives. My mother had ling cancer. She & my hubby both lift us at age 48.I,m retired & needed something to do 7 SINCE i,M NOT A VERY ACTIVE PERSON THIS WORKS FOR ME. And since my Mom taught me at age 9 its honoring her in a way also. I enjoy making them. I have dozens of patterns I,ve gotten free on the internet & I pick up yarn at yard sales or where ever I can find it on sale.Since I.m 75 & retired it keeps me busy & off the streets. Ha Ha.
