Hello
Hi everyone.
I just joined the site today and hope to get help. I posted my question in the appropriate forum.
I learned the crochet basics when I was young and could not go to school for a long period of time. My grandparents would come over when both my parents were working and my grandma was doing some crocheting.
For years I didn’t do anything with what she showed me but in my late teens I was diagnosed with Crohn’s and ended up in an out of town hospital every year for 10 years and required surgery each time because this was when Crohn’s wasn’t well known.
While in the hospital or while recovering at home I started making pillows.
When recovered to where I could live on my own again I had years I worked in the limousine industry for one company and later did phone support for Apple.
My health started to go downhill again so I quit the call centre when I got approved for disability.
I’m now 62 and over the past few years I’ve been making afghans using a specific pattern I found in a Bernat pattern book.
Hope this kind of explains who I am.
We came from Amsterdam in 1969 when we moved to Canada.

Welcome rensing! You chose a super forum. We all help each other here. Sounds like crocheting has kept you going through rough times. I suffer from mental and physical issues and find my crochet projects are of great comfort to me at the harder moments. In general however, I greatly enjoy choosing colors, patterns and what to make next. Hope to see you on here often! imalefty
