I have crocheted some lovely rugs for our bathrooms out of cotton yarn- to absorb the water from wet feet- and the rugs slip and slide. What can I use on the backs to keep them stationary? All tips greatly appreciated.

Lawana: I am thinking ? the stuff that is used for lining kitchen and bathroom drawers? It has some holes in it and I am thinking you could just tack it several places around the back of the rugs? It is kind of almost rubber like? Tom's folks used it in their motorhome for like placements and to keep drinks from sliding around, to keep the radio etc. from sliding around on the dashboard? It is a thought? Shirley
I was thinking the same thing. I have some somewhere-LOL- probably in my craft bldg. Will look for it if it ever cools off enough to go in there without having a heat stroke. Thanks, Shirley. Think I just needed that idea validated.
Lawana: Was hoping that would work for you. It is definitely frustrating when they slide all over. Shirley
It's scary, too. We are not young and sure don't want to fall and break a bone or two!
I think I have seen actual rug backing in the stores, but for the life of me, can't remember where, sorry. But I agree with the others, the shelf lining may just be the answer.

I agree that the shelf liner will work. I've used it under the cushions on my wooden kitchen chair seats to keep the cushions from sliding all around. But I think I would just put a couple of pieces of it on the floor under the rugs. If you sew it on, then you will have a problem when it's time to wash the rugs.
Thank you, Sweet Ladies! Great minds think alike! LOL
Good idea Annette: I did not even get to the washing part! Shirley
Maybe puff paint? I know people use it on the bottoms of crochet/knit slippers to prevent slipping.
