Doris, we are on the same wave length. I have made several of the same ones. I'm in love with hot pads and pot holders. I like making things with faces because they look a little different like they have their own personality. You did a great job!!

Love your things! Where did you get the pattern for the little dress? Is it a pot holder or a soap cover? I'm looking for a dress to put on dish washing detergent bottle.

Here a site for a Dish Soap Bottle and I copied and attached the instructions: http://www.christinassunshinehaven.c...hsoapdress.jpg Dress-me-up Dish Soap

13 oz Dish Soap Bottle (I used Dawn)

    H hook

Small amount of worsted weight 4 ply yarn (I used Caron Pound of Love- Turquoise)

Round 1: Ch 20, sl st tog to form a ring.

Round 2: Ch 3 (count as first dc now and throughout), 29 dc around the ring not into the stitches of the ring. (total of 30 dc) Sl st tog.

Round 3: Ch 3, dc, ch2, 2dc in same st as ch3. *Skip 3dc, 2dc, ch 2,2dc in between the stitches. Repeat this around from the *. Refer to the picture as a guide. Sl st to ch 3.

Round 4: Sl st to the ch 2 sp from previous round, 2dc,ch2,2dc in that space. In next ch 2 sp, 2dc, ch2, 2dc. Then skip 2 shells (2dc, ch 2, 2dc) from previous round. Then do shells in the next 3 ch 2 spaces. Sl st tog.

Round 5: 2dc, ch2,2dc (shell) 3 times, V st (dc, ch1,dc) in arms. Then do 3 shells and sl st tog.

Round 6-11: Repeat Round 5. Fasten off and weave in ends.

I'm sorry this pattern is hard for me to explain. I hope with the picture you will be able to understand it.

Shell around and V-st in the arms....basically.
