Faye, you said you were making an afghan. Are you making it the same size as the quilt? Would your Flowers be the same size on the afghan as the bigger quilt? Margaret

Listen Faye, what I would do is buy some of that soft Red Heart yarn and don't use different weights of yarn. Most of everything I like doing is with the soft yarn and it seems to all come out the same size when I use it. I'm talking solid colors because I haven't used any variegated yet. It works up much nicer than the standard red heart yarn and doesn't have the change in feeling and weight as the standard one...but the best is that it's sooooo soft that all you want to do is rub it on your face all the time. It feels good. Pugsly just wants to lay right in the middle of all my projects. He's such a trip. He gets jealous if I crochet too long without paying attention to him. But he's my best buddy and I wouldn't change him one bit! Take care. Love ya Betty

I made a picture of Ma's (my grandmother's name) flower garden quilt. I told you that the love of bright colors came from Ma and this is proof. The six-sided pieces are 1 inch across! Can you imagine cutting all of those out and then piecing them all together? She was the most creative and crafty person I have ever seen. If there was a craft that she didn't know she learned it. These pieces were cut out before rotary cutters. Unfortunately I didn't inherit her skill with quilting but I do have the ability to crochet this afghan. I reposted the picture of it so you can see how similar they are.
