    Thanks JeanMarie, I am not a fan of FPDC or BPDC but this sweater turned out cute. I think a darker color would show of the design more than the white.

    Hi Jean Marie, You are right it is the crochet basket weave stitch. I made a little white sweater in the basket weave stitch with knitting for my little granddaughter they look different between crochet and knitting. I didn't know at the time I was making that sweater that is was a basket weave stitch too.

    Thank you NOva55, I think the mother will appreciate it. As a child she was always making me crafts and things and when her sister had her first baby I watched her knit a blanket. That was when I wanted to learn to knit too.
