    Kitty litter cat mat

I made this by request for my oldest son and his girlfriend to use in what has become a constant battle of the cats tracking kitty litter all over their apartment. This was designed to fit in the threshold of a doorway the cats must walk through to get from the litter box to all other places in the apartment. Here's hoping it does the trick. Here is a link to my blog if you want to read about this and my many other crochet adventures.

Has this helped? I have 4 cats running around with litter boxes around the house. It would be wonderful to try to keep the litter from going all over.

He doesn't have it yet, so I won't know for awhile, but I will be making one for my laundry room if it does the trick.

Hmmm, I ve always just used a piece of artificial turf under the litterbox an extending about 3 foot area around the box. I just shake it out every few days and I have had no problem with tracking. I use Swheat Scoop litter, less tracking, great odor control, no dust, longer lasting, I love it!

Great idea! I need to do something like that. My cat's box is in my bathroom, and although I have a mat that I bought at the pet store under it, there's still grit tracked on the floor. The mat from the store is a little too small to really be effective. I'm going to try making something larger and hope that helps. Thanks for the terrific idea.
