I finished the reindeer hat for my sister for Christmas

Sometime back I was making a reindeer hat for a child and first it was too small. Then it was too big and I turned it into a basket for the snowmen I made which in turn became the start of a reindeer hat for my Dad.

Thanks Jo! I have a order for a crocheted XXL hat with earflaps. She wants it for her husband. She says the hats in the store are too tight. I told her that that was probably because of the elastic. She wants it in the Michigan colors - blue and yellow. She's excited about it. I have told her that she doesn't have it keep it after I finish the hat and she said she's seen my work and knows that it'll be good.

Thanks Jo! I crocheted a little bit with some blue yarn but it's too thin of a yarn. Its it harder to crochet with a thinner yarn. I'm going to have to look at the store for some yarn.

Thanks! Yes, I did use a pattern. The pattern is for a child size. I just made it bigger. The top of the hat is ch 2 and 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook and join w/a ss and then 2 sc in ea st so you have 12 sc. You always ss to join and ch 1 before starting the next rnd. Then starting on the 3rd rnd you sc in the 1st st and 2 sc in the next st and repeat to the end and on ea rnd you go up one number. For example:Rnd 3 - 1 sc, 2 sc's in next st Rnd 4 - 1 sc in the next 2 sts and 2 sc's in next st Rnd 5 - 1 sc in next 3 sts and 2 sc's in next st Rnd 6 - 1 sc in next 4 sts and 2 sc's in next st This makes a flat circle. There is a video on Google on how to make a flat circle.
