My goodness SL does have a nice selection of ghans etc., I seem to remember that they were competitors of Annies, is this still the case?
    Warmest regards, from Central Wisconsin!,

I believe both are Annies.. I have most of the crochet magazines from Annies...Shady Lane was once her mailing address.

    Hi Gloria!
You'll probably have to do a search for an alphabet chart and cross stitch the name on the blanket. You could use any stitch you want for the blanket. allfreecrochet.com has tons of free patterns and charts too. Good luck!

Try going to Michael Sellick's site "The Crochet Crowd" and check out his tutorial on filet crochet. He shows a blanket with "Michael" crocheted into it. With filet crochet and graph paper you can "write" anything you want on a baby afghan. Hope this helps

I'm new to the crochet world. I have enjoyed seeing all the beautiful items and ideas of all of you. I really love the babys name in the afghan. Keep up the good work, it's an encouragement to all of us new ones. Love the new ideas that you are doing.
    Thanks, Vicky

Hi Gloria, here is another site that I found sometime ago with guides to letters and numbers for crocheting. She also included a baby blanket pattern. Another choice.
    Have fun!!
