Cool Crocheting for Charity in Texas (Need Ideas)

I've been crocheting off and on most of my life. I was very involved in HAP (Handmade Afghans to Thank Our Armed Forces Project), and just started crocheting for "Knots of Love." There are lots of patterns out there, but I'm looking for some that are fast, easy and can be embellished tomake them fun and cute for the patients and will lift their spirits. If you have a favorite pattern or web site you can direct me to, I'd really appreciate it.

Actually, I'm working on hats for chemo patients. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I saw a pillow called "blooming flower cushion" but could not find a written pattern. I thought this could be adjusted to make a fun, beautiful hat for charity or for one's own use. What do you guys think? Can this be done or do you know of a pattern to accomplish this? This group is fabulous! I'm so glad I joined.

what about crocheting some sort of head band or bracelet and in the center make some sort of "knots" in it to keep in theme. -just a thought.
