New use of doilies

I found another use for some doilies and am anxious to try it....




you use wallpaper glue
a balloon
6 small or whatever size doily you want

wet doily with wallpaper paste and place it around the rounded to of balloon..when paste is dry pop balloon and you have a very pretty bowl that you can but battery operated candle or a glass candle in or whaterver else you want to use it for.....


I can not wait to try it have to go buy some paste and balloons ..lol..already have loads of doilies

I don't have many round doily's but have lots of oval shaped ones I have made with the pineapple design. Do you think this would work?

I dont know with oval..maybe if you use one ove those long balloonns they make animals out of

I am thinking that the doilies could overlap some so the piece will stay together when you pop the balloon. Of course, you could add something to connect the doilies if you don't want them to overlap. It really sounds like a lot of fun and I am thinking that fabric would work also. What a great idea!!!

I love to crochet with thread, but haven't seen any new uses for doilies. Would the craft store stiffener used for snowflakes, etc. work? Or is there something special about wallpaper paste?
