    Crocheter's Hourly Rate Ha Ha

    I got this on Pinterest

    $20 an hour - minimum
$30 an hour if it requires black yarn
$40 an hour if you need it by tomorrow
$80 an hour if there is no pattern
$90 an hour if your example photo is knit
$100 an hour if you can get it cheaper elsewhere

    I thought it was cute

Funny! However, I used to know a woman, friend of the family, a really good knitter & crocheter, who charged according to the cost of the yarn. She'd double that, and that was her "fee". Not very logical, is it. I suppose if you hired her to make a simple scarf out of, say, cashmere-musk ox-silk blend, and it took her only a couple of hours, then she'd make a bundle of $$$ from a minimum of effort and time.

However, if she made a jacket (with, say, set-in sleeves, just to make it more laborious) with some cheap brand of acrylic, which would take many hours, over a period of days, she'd maybe have to charge no more than $20.00.

    LOL.
