crochet hooks - so they work

I crocheted with a metal(I mean aluminum crochet hook) crochet hook that works good and then I crocheted with a hook that has a foam rubber on the handle and this one didn't crochet so good so I looked at both crochet hooks and saw that the point of the head of the crochet hook has to be facing where it says Boye on the handle so my husband turned the crochet hook with a pliers and it works good now.

LOL! Smart man. You have to wonder why the hook wasn't manufactured correctly in the first place.

Maybe it was. The hook might have turned over time. Don't know.

Jean Marie, but which style do you prefer in hooks? I have aluminum, steel, bamboo and the ones you are talking about with the foam in the middle.

I keep changing but keep going back to the aluminum hooks. I was using the bamboo for cotton things like wash cloths. (I love my own home made wash cloths instead of terry cloth ones from the store).

I'm using a G size crochet hook. I have 3 G size crochet hooks but I go to the light weight G size aluminum hook.

If you have a crochet hook that when crocheting with it and you're ready to pull the hook through the loops and the hook isn't facing down so it can go through the loops then your crochet hook needs to be turned so the head or point of the hook is in line with the word Boye ( that's if it's a Boye crochet hook)
