    Edging Update

I started by inserting hook in first row, yo, and chained 4.
Skipped 2 rows and sc in third ro
Skipped 1 row and sc in next row...until 10 loops. I still have one row left?

Also, I have a really dumb question. At the beginning row above started with no loop on hook. I just stuck the hook in and pulled the yarn thru, then did 4 chains. Is that right?

If it works for you that way without a slip knot then that's fine.

I would have joined yarn to my hook, put hook in stitch, yarn over, pull thru afghan and then loop on hook-a slip stitch. But Jean Marie is right. Whatever works for you. Don’t be concerned about the extra row after the loops,it will never show.

By join the yarn, do you mean start out with a loop (sl st) on hook and pull over and thru both loops? Otherwise I am worried it would just come apart later.

Yarn on hook with slip knot. Hook through stitch on afghan edge. Yarn over, pull through Afghan and loop on hook- it is attached.

I pulled out and followed your directions, thanks--it helped lots. I re-watched a video on sc to make sure I was doing it right (up to the edging I had done only dc). Which brings me to another question--do I insert my hook under both bars in slip stitch?

Yes,I would go under both. Unless your pattern says otherwise.

I agree if it looks good for you, it is fine. My daughter says I am too picky and it looks fine to her. Your project looks pretty.
