Crocheting can be hard not only on your hands but on your fingers too

I have a pair of the short fingerless gloves but I also have a pair of the longer gloves that also go about 2/3rds of the way on the fingers - a little ways past the knuckle. I don't always have the gloves on especially when it's hot. The longer gloves that go partway on the fingers might be a good investment for you. I probably should wear the gloves more than I do at least the short gloves. I used to wear the short gloves all the time when crocheting and then typing on the computer and when the phone rang I would drag my yarn across the room to see who called and sometimes I would crochet while talking on the phone.

You can also put some polyester fiberfill around a crochet hook for a cushion for your thumb and fingers.
