Hello AliSmith, Your header for help shows crochet pattern DC in next dv?
Did you mean dc for dv?

After you chain 3, there will be 1dc, 1dc from the previous row where the pattern wants you to dc into the top of the first dc you come to then dc in the next dc from the previous row you will have 3 dc starting this row. (that takes care of the DC in next 2 DC and the chain 3 that counts as a your first dc)

Now you are at the *where this is the repeat in your pattern. You will make a combination stitch of ( 2dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the ch 2 space of the previous row you must have done this combination (2dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the previous row so you do what is in brackets in the ch 2 space of the previous row.

Ch-2 sp means chain 2 space or the space/hole created by a chain 2 from the previous row. All you need to do when you get to that part is to insert your hook into the hole (the top of the stitch) and work your (2dc, ch 2, 2 dc).

Hope this helps and it answers your question.
