If you were going to dc into the next stitch instead of ss then where would you put your hook? Put your hook in the same place you would if it was a sc or dc stitch and crochet a ss.

The instructions don't say to chain one at the end of Row 1. So do I put the hook in the chain with the Red or Green arrow? Normally I would put it in the chain with the red arrow.

    Hi Lucie.

At the end of row 1 it says to DC in the last stitch then turn your work. When you start this row your last stitch from row 1 is a dc you would ss into that stitch then chain 3 to begin going across the row.

Looks like Jean Marie is helping you so she may be more familiar with what you are making.

Hi spoula, thanks. I can't believe I am sooooo dumb. I am still not sure which stitch is considered the last stitch--the one with the red arrow or the one with the green arrow. I have another question coming up but I am almost afraid to ask it. Almost... but ask I will!

    Hi Lucie,
You're ready to start row 2. If you're still not sure what stitch then turn your work back to row 1 and see where the last dc is. That will be the first stitch on row 2. If you were going to do a dc at the start of row 2 you would ch 2 or 3 then you could see what your first stitch is.

OMGolly, I thought so--but wasn't sure. Thanks again for all your help. I am also confused regarding ch1 space.

    ROW 2
    1. sl st in first dc, ch 3,
    2. *(2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch 1 sp,
    3. (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch 1 sp;
    4. rep from *
    5. ending (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next sp,
    6. dc in top of turning ch,
    7. turn.

    Red shows "ch1 space"
Green shows "sp"(what is difference between red and green?)

    After doing 2dc, ch1, 2dc I skip three stitches.
After doing dc, ch1, dc I skip two stitches.

I know I have to go into spaces, but not sure what spaces?
