    Hi Spoula, thanks, you're right. I just typed the instructions from Row 1 in error. And, thanks for the tip--"V" stitch and the chain 1 between the 2 dc's on the next row sometimes is used to make a shell stitch which is your (2dc,ch1,2dc). Gosh, good thing I am practicing and thanks be for this site...

    Jean, I have to thank you again for this answer. By the time I started on the real blanket, did the first afghan square, I forgot how I did the lace square and had to practice it one more time. I had to go back to this post to refresh my memory. Now I have it and will post a picture when I finish the first two squares. TY, TY, TY...Lucie

    [QUOTE=Lucie;209677]LACE SQUARE: (Second and Fourth Panels)
    Change to #6 crochet hook.

    ROW 1

    Wrong side--sl st into first st,
    1. ch 3
    2. skip 1 st,
    3. *(dc, ch 1, dc) in next st,
    4. skip 3 sts,
    5. (2 dc, ch 1 2 dc) in next st,
    6. skip 2 sts;
    7. repeat from *
    8. ending skip 2 sts,
    9. (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st,
    10. skip 2 sts, working back down the row from right to left

    11. dc in last st,
    12. turn.

    Row 2: 10, 9 (after you turn your work you sl st to the #9) first dc

    ROW 2
    1. sl st in first dc, ch 3
    , Don't know where to insert my hook? After you turn your work slip stitch to the next skipped stitch and slip stitch to the next skipped stitch then you are at the (dc ch1,dc) slip into the first dc

    2. *(2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch 1 sp,
    3. (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch 1 sp;
    4. rep from *
    5. ending (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in nexp sp,
    6. dc in top of turning ch,
    7. turn.

    I hope this makes sense.
    Each time you turn your work look at what you did on the last row the next row you will be working on top of those stitches, spaces and so on.

    Spoula, thanks--I have one more row to do on the lace square. I am not sure I am doing it correctly; I will post a picture.
