Projects made with granny square exchange
Hi everyone,
I've been reading about your granny square exchange and I am intrigued as to what people do with the random granny squares they receive along with their own.
I have tried to find pictures of projects e.g. blankets people have made from exchanges but I have had no luck. Maybe there is a thread already with such photos that I have missed? I'm completely new to crocheting. I have only made an angel decoration so far, but I'm considering trying some granny squares. An exchange sounds like it could keep the motivation up for a big project.
I am struggling to visualise a mix of random colours especially being brought together so I hope to see some examples of what has been done in the past. Thank you and I hope it was ok to ask this.

Thank you for posting this question. I also am very interested in viewing what others have made with the motifs or squares they have received I have never participated in such an exchange as I always liked the idea of making the project myself. If someone knows of a link to view these items I also would be most interested in learning of it.
Thank you for taking time to respond to our request.John Grey

Here is the link for the new exchange. As far as projects, I am not sure who has posted items they have made with the squares.

Hi Barbara, thank you for the link.
I probably won't join just now, partly because I'm based in Ireland and afraid if the cost of postage for both me and my exchange partner as it appears most of you are in the states. Also I haven't done any squares yet so not sure if I'd be any good.
I am due baby no. 2 in May so I might focus on children's items for now, if I stray from angel tree ornaments. It does fascinate me though, maybe I could find some more local exchange partners. I hope a lot sign up though, I'd say it's great fun.

Ok so I have found a few pictures from around the web of the results of granny square exchanges. I would love to post the photos here but I'm not sure that's allowed.
This person made a coat with 64 7 inch squares she had saved up through an exchange:

The following exchanges appear to be ones where you specify what type of project you as doing so that people can choose to send you a square you would need.
This lady made a Christmas blanket through such an exchange.
The finished piece:

Here are some of the squares she received for the Christmas blanket, and by scrolling down you can see another blanket she made through a square exchange, a rainbow blanket:

Here are a few different blankets people have made through a swap. Again it appears they gave some sort of specification to keep a theme to the project:

You are more than welcome to post pictures. The system will also allow you to add the URL of a photo found online.
Thanks for sharing with us. I was looking through forum threads and could not find what I was looking for. We have been dealing with the flu, so I did not think about searching online. I do know there are a lot of pictures here in the forums of the granny squares received, but not sure about how many are of what projects were made out of the squares.
So, thanks for being a blessing!

I've been part of the exchange and just saving them!
My idea was just to make a pillow with them and just embrace the differences
